If a Wellesley student petitions to enroll in a study-abroad program that is not yet approved, is it likely that she will attend the program with financial aid?
I want to study at Seoul National University for a semester or two—I know Wellesley’s only approved, during-the-school-year exchange…
In order to study in a non-approved program all you have to do is petition Wellesley giving your reasons (and it seems like you have pretty good ones). I know several people who have done this and, in general, I think it usually works out unless you’re proposing to study in Chechnya or something. After that, your financial aid will not be affected by the location of your study-abroad program.
Hope this helps! It’s cool that you already have a plan for your study abroad… I figured mine out about a month before the application deadline. Also, congratulations on your early acceptance to Wellesley! :)
